Climate effect
- expressed concern about the drought and floods caused by climate change, which threaten the livelihood of pastoralists in Karamoja region. Walter Erdelen, the UNESCO Assistant Director General for Natural Sciences, expressed his concern recently during the launch of a book titled, Sustainability in Karamoja.

DIOs unhappy
- District information officers have decried being denied information and funds from their respective districts, in execution of their duties. “We have no level ground at our districts, like all other departments. We are allocated very little money, and have always been neglected,” Busia’s information officer Barbara Nambozo said. She is one of the district information officers (DIOs)
