UMH, among the top 200 universities in the world in food science and technology

The Shanghai Global Ranking of Universities 2022 (GRAS) places Miguel Hernandez University (UMH) in Elche among the world’s top 200 universities in food science and technology. This ranking ranks more than 1,800 universities in 96 countries, and analyzes 54 subjects in the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. The rating measures scientific productivity in various academic fields, but does not assess teaching quality.

UMH also stands out nationally in disciplines related to the health sciences, a fact that reinforces its dominant image in the field. For example, UMH ranks seventh in the field of human biological sciences (301-400 worldwide), ninth in clinical medicine (401-500 worldwide), twelfth in pharmacology and pharmacy sciences, as well as agricultural sciences ( 301-400 globally), and 13th in public health (401-500 globally).

The GRAS 2022 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects uses a set of objective academic indicators, as well as third-party data, to measure the performance of the world’s universities on various topics such as: research results, by number of high-impact publications (Q1 or falls in first quarter), research impact from Through the Natural Impact Index (CNCI), the International Collaboration in Publications (IC), and the quality of research through publications considered to be of high standing for ranking (top) and international academic awards such as the Nobel Prizes or the Lasker-Debakey Prize.

The Shanghai Ranking began publishing world rankings of universities by academic subjects in 2009. More information at: https://www.shanghairanking.com/rankings/gras/2022
