WhatsApp groups will change forever with this new feature in the polls function.

Recently we have seen significant changes in WhatsApp groups and some of them are even bringing them closer to the appearance of groups on Facebook. For example, we recently mentioned that this group will provide the ability to manage the approval of new participants in WhatsApp groups, and now there is a new feature in the polls function.

what’s new? Well, it turns out that the messaging app is adding a feature that allows users to limit their choice to one option when responding to a survey. In terms of configuration, it works quite similar to Facebook group polls, where if active, participants can only choose one option.

The ability to create ramps was implemented in WhatsApp chats in November last year. However, an important detail was that those who responded to the surveys could do so by selecting several options. In other words, if you run a survey with a yes and no answer, the user can answer by checking both. Now this inconvenience will finally be solved, when creating the survey you can limit it to just one option.

As reported by WABetaInfoThis feature that improves the functionality of surveys in WhatsApp is still under development and will appear in a future update of the app. In the following screenshot, you can see how the application plans to implement the select ability to choose one option.

This will go a long way in avoiding ambiguity or confusion regarding survey results. Think about it, if you as a survey creator restrict users to choose one option, you will surely get clearer and more accurate results.

How do I create polls on WhatsApp?

The procedure is as simple as sending any photo, follow these steps:

  • Open WhatsApp
  • Go to the chat where you want to take the survey, it could be a group chat or a contact’s chat.
  • Now tap on the clip icon at the bottom to view the functions.
  • You will see the options for Documents, Camera, Gallery… and at the end you will see “reconnaissance”.
  • Now you just have to click on the survey and add a question with answer options.
  • To finish, click the submit icon and your survey will appear in the chat.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the procedure is very simple, if you are clear about the subject of your survey, it certainly won’t take you longer than sending any other file.

Regarding the user consent management function that we mentioned at the beginning, WABetaInfo makes it clear in the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.6.9 From the Play Store and the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.0.74 update, the social media company is debuting a new feature that provides the ability to manage approval for newcomers. Thanks to this feature, new members will not be able to join a group directly, but they will pass a filter under the control of the administrator. You can read the full article by clicking here.
