At least 17 people were killed as a result of the nightly Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, as reported on Sunday (09.10.2022) Anatoly Kortev, the town’s mayor via Telegram.
“As a result of the night missile attack on Zaporizhia, a number of apartment buildings and some residential streets of the city were damaged. According to preliminary data, five houses were destroyed and about 40 people were injured. At the moment, it is known that 17 people have died,” wrote Kortev.
The Russian army bombed the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia in the early hours of Sunday morning, with ten missiles located in its municipal area, the main Ukrainian nuclear reactor.
The head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Staruch, reported the attack via social media, noting that “the enemy continues to terrorize the city of Zaporizhia, hitting nearly a dozen missiles, and the consequences are being determined.”
Kortev also reported on social media that residential buildings were damaged as a result of the missile attack.
“Zaporega was again the target of an intense missile launch. Residential buildings were damaged as a result of the enemy’s attack. A fire broke out,” Kortev wrote.
The Ukrainian authorities added that “information about the victims is ongoing and related services are already operating on the site.”
