Immunology provides an important area for the development and research of medicine

“Immunology is present in practically all human processes; it is relevant to all areas of medicine, so its importance is really noteworthy,” said Dr. Adriana Elizabeth Monsivas Orenda, a researcher at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi.

He explained that immunology has an impact on all types of infectious, chronic and degenerative diseases, cancer, and currently also on transplants, hence the importance of its study.

There are enough immunologists in the country, he noted, even though there aren’t in our city, “In medical school, we’re only four immunologists. So I think there are, but the field is so vast that there are so many areas of opportunity, given Because there are so many areas of research for everyone.”

Regarding the invitation to participate in the Vanguard Medicine symposium, Dr. Monsiváis Urenda considered it a great honor to be able to present it to health professionals and researchers, alumni of the Faculty, “It is an honor for me as a graduate of the UASLP Faculty of Medicine, as a woman and a researcher, to be able to talk about what I am passionate about , which is immunology.”

Dr. Adriana Elizabeth Monsiváis Urenda, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, currently heads the Department of Immunology. Likewise, she is the Secretary General of the Center for Research in Health Sciences and Biomedicine (CICSAB).
