god nirkam From James Webb Space Telescope NASA/ESA/Canadian Space Agency have obtained their first images of Saturn’s moon Titan on November 4th.
The image on the left uses a filter sensitive to Titan’s lower atmosphere. Bright spots are prominent clouds in the northern hemisphere. The image on the right is a color composite image. Several prominent features are marked on the surface: they are believed to be Kraken Mary It’s a sea of methane. The plate consists of dark sand dunes. Adiri is the feature of bright whites, as per reports this is.

Titan is the only moon in the solar system with a dense atmosphere. It is also the only planetary body besides Earth that currently has rivers, lakes, and seas.
However, unlike EarthThe liquid on Titan’s surface is made up of hydrocarbons, including methane and ethane, not water. Its atmosphere is filled with a thick haze that blocks visible light reflected from the surface.
Scientists have waited years to use Webb’s infrared vision to study Titan’s atmosphere, including its fascinating weather patterns and gaseous composition, and also to see through the haze to study the characteristics of the albedo (light and dark spots) on the surface.
More Titan data from NIRCam and NIRSpec are expected, as well as the first data from the medium infrared instrument (Merry) from Webb in May or June 2023. The MIRI data will reveal a larger portion of Titan’s spectrum, including some wavelengths not seen before.

This will give scientists information about the complex gases in Titan’s atmosphere, as well as important clues as to why Titan is the only moon in the solar system with a dense atmosphere.
