Bill Gates, Rockefeller give sh270b to farmers

Ugandan farmers are among Africans to benefit from the $150m (sh270b) donation from the merger between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.

Dr. Joe Deveries, the Associate Director of Food Security in Rockefeller Foundation, said the donation is to cause a Green Revolution in Africa so that Africans have a new face which is far from starvation and famine.

Deveries was last wek addressing proprietors of 10 seed companies in Uganda at the Namulonge Agricultural and Animal Research Institute.
