The sands of time are running late

Another overdue game

The situation is bleak. Business and personal complexities that occurred throughout 2020 have forced a large number of developers to delay their projects until the end of 2021, sometime in 2022 or, as in this case, to another remote location in the next few years to come.

Ubisoft issued a press release explaining the reasons for the delay, which reads as follows:

Since the announcement of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake last September, fans have shared their enthusiasm and expectations about whether this beloved franchise can be enjoyed again. Our goal has always been to bring you a fresh version while staying true to the original.

In order to allow the development team to provide a game experience that our fans will appreciate, we’ve decided to postpone the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

We thank all our fans and communities for their continued passion and loyalty to the Prince of Persia. We look forward to sharing more information about the progress of the Prince of Persia program: The Sands of Time edition soon.

Searching for a remake to match

Basically, the reasons are still the same as for other development teams. Due to complexities, lack of resources, and development time, projects do not meet proposed deadlines, and this translates into poorly finished games with a slew of bugs (Cyberpunk told).

That’s why they made the tough decision at Ubisoft Launch delayAnd, either by not making things worse or by being cautious, they prefer in principle not to share any new release date. With “We Decided to Postpone Release Date,” they show the game will be delayed, but remain largely unknown about exactly how long they must wait for the game to reach the shelves.

Will they arrive in time before the end of 2021? Are we going to 2022? Given that the original date was March 2021, they may not really need any more time, but knowing that they have not dared to set a date and that the global pandemic is still hitting more than ever, everything indicates that the situation is more complicated than it appears.

In short, the Prince of Persia is running until you know when, and the worst thing is to add another awaited game to the list of delays for 2021. What will we do? Play on our Xbox Series X?
