The Scientific Advisory Board of Castilla-La Mancha will have a Women’s Committee

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has approved the decree approving the regulations for the organization and operation of the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of Castilla-La Mancha, which will enter into force within 20 days. The aforementioned decree envisages, among other things, the creation of a Women and Science Commission whose task will be to inform the Consultative Council for the Promotion of Gender Equality.

The Special Committee on Women and Science will consist of four members chosen from among the members who form part of the advisory board. These four members are elected unanimously among the members of the Shura Council, and one of them assumes the presidency of the commission. And in it is also a representative of the Women’s Institute of Castilla-La Mancha, appointed by him.

This is stated in the text published by the Official Gazette of Castilla La Mancha, in which it mentions Law 4/2020, of July 10, on the promotion and coordination of the research, development and innovation system in Castilla La Mancha. Creation of several competent bodies involved in the management of the research, development and innovation system in Castilla-La Mancha.

Among these, the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of Castilla-La Mancha, organized in Title II, has been established as a specific body that will contribute to its advisory work to the rest of the competent bodies to promote cooperation between the public system of science and innovation and the productive fabric and, ultimately, to improve the living conditions of all citizens

Among the functions of this body are to advise the Government of Castilla-La Mancha through the Regional Commission for Science and Technology of Castilla-La Mancha on matters within its competence, to cooperate in the preparation of regional strategies or plans in matters of research, development and innovation, to know the degree of compliance with the regional plan for research Scientific, technological development, innovation or other strategic documents related to the subject and to propose amendments it deems appropriate.

Likewise, it should propose to the Regional Commission for Science and Technology of Castilla-La Mancha the adoption of specific measures to promote scientific and technical research, technological development and innovation in Castilla-La Mancha.

Communicate to the draft successive regional plans for scientific research, technological development and innovation or other strategic documents on this matter, issue as many reports and opinions as may be requested by the Regional Committee for Science and Technology of Castilla La Mancha or amend the regulations for internal performance, are also among its functions.
