The World Baseball Rankings have been updated after the 2023 World Classic

After the conclusion of the 2023 World Classic, some adjustments have been made to the World Baseball Rankings and the new ranking in which the different countries are placed has already been published.

Japan continued to occupy the first place after winning the competition and collecting 5323 points, the United States ranked second (with 4402 points) and Mexico ranked third (4130 points).

Chinese Taipei (the name that includes athletes from the Republic of China) is in fourth place with a score of 4061, South Korea in fifth place (4049) and Venezuela in sixth place (3534). They are joined by Cuba (3151) in seventh place, the Netherlands in eighth place (3089), Australia in ninth place (2600) and the Dominican Republic in tenth place with 2415 points.

The other teams on this list are Panama (14) and France (22), and last place (36) is Uganda.

In addition to Japan (whose champion was Shohei Ohtani), the great novelty of this World Classic (and thus of the recently published novel) was Mexico, which had the best performance in its history, reaching the semifinals.

Regarding this achievement, Benjamin Gill, manager of the Aztec National Team, told the media “It was a victory for Mexican baseball” And he said that ‘It will make a big difference’ of the sport in that region, ever since “It will grow and attract a lot of young people.”
